Description
The Lennox 80K89 is an automatic limit switch which is a safety device used in different HVAC products of Lennox. It works like a thermostat and switches in one. Usually in the closed position, the switch opens to stop the system’s operation if the temperature goes above a set point, often between 150°F and 180°F. This safety feature acts to prevent your furnace or other HVAC unit from getting over heated and subsequently damaging itself by shutting the equipment down before it reaches a certain temperature. After the temperature goes back down, the switch turns back on, and the system can begin again.
