Trane COM8837 Compressor is a high capacity unit meant for cooling in commercial and industrial applications that uses R-410A refrigerant. A strong and compact case made of cast iron. This Trane compressor is not a piston type of compressor but has a scroll for its operation as shown below. In the sealed housing, two meshing scrolls operate to compress the refrigerant gas and generate high pressure at a moderate speed. This efficient design translates to a 5.6-ton capacity (67,000 BTUH), capable of handling high cooling loads. Refrigerant circulation is facilitated with brazed stub tubes with a discharge size of 1/2”.
