The Trane VAL6383 Thermal Expansion Valves are essentialfor controlling the refrigerant in HVAC systems.s. This is for R410A refrigerant and is generally used for systems of a capacity of more than 3 tons. It is used for R-22 refrigerant and is standard for 2-ton systems. Both of the TXVs are of the same dimensions 1/2 x 5/8” and can handle high-pressure systems up to 450 PSI. This controlled flow enables proper dealing with any system load and in particular, ensures that the evaporator coil is not overcharged with refrigerant as this reduces the system cool output and in extreme cases causes system failure.
