Description
The Trane VAL2378 is a 5-ton thermal expansion valve for use on HVAC systems using R-22 refrigerant. This valve is essentialin regulating the flow of refrigerant within the system at large. The TXV adjusts the quantity of refrigerant that gets into the coil by sensing the evaporator coil Temperature. This prevents the icing up of the evaporator coil and ensures top efficiency is achieved throughout its operation. Sweat connections are easy on the Trane VAL2378 which features a stainless steel construction (ODF = outside diameter fitting). The amount of refrigerant flow to the sizes of 1/2” inlet and 7/8” output is adequate. An additional 5-foot capillary tube that is also incorporated in the valve.
