Description
The Amana-Goodman 0163R00002S crankcase heater belt is a 40W, 230V that replaces a failed crankcase heater belt to safeguard a compressor of air conditioners and heat pumps in their HVAC systems. This electric heating element is placed around the crankcase of the compressor and slowly warms the oil. Sometimes in idle periods, particularly in cold climates, refrigerant can seep into the compressor oil, in effect diluting its capability of lubrication. This refrigerant migration can be damaging during start up because the compressor is unable to pump the oil-refrigerant mixture.
