Description
The Lochinvar & A.O. Smith 100108268 24″ Thermocouple is a flame-sensing component used for gas-fired water heaters and boilers that use standing pilot ignition assemblies in HVAC systems. It detects heat from the pilot flame and generates a millivolt signal that allow the gas valve to remain open during normal operation. It is placed between the pilot burner, and the gas control valve. It operate as a protective mechanism within the appliance by shutting off gas flow if the pilot flame is extinguished. It is used in hot water equipment, and it supports ignition performance during system and replacement applications.
