The Lennox 38M69 is a high limit safety control switch for HVAC systems. It is anessential part in shutting down the furnace or heater when temperatures get too high. The single pole, single throw switch operates from 210°F to 240°F. When the temperature reaches set limit (usually 240 degrees Fahrenheit) which opens the circuit shutting power off to the heating element preventing further temperature rise. This automatic shut off protects your equipment from possible damage and prevents fire hazards.
