The Sporlan Controls 130734 is a 5-ton thermal expansion valve intended for use with R-22 refrigerant in HVAC systems. It performs the role of a precision regulator, managing the refrigerant flow into the evaporator coil to sustain a steady superheat and enhance cooling effectiveness. Heat pumps, refrigeration equipment, and air conditioners frequently have this 1/2″ x 7/8″ valve. The TXV ensures optimal heat transfer and keeps liquid refrigerant from damaging the compressor by carefully measuring the refrigerant to prevent flooding in the evaporator. This results in longer equipment life, reduced energy usage, and increased system efficiency.
