Description
The Trane COM8726 Compressor is a high-output compressor for heavy commercial/industrial applications using R-22 refrigerant. A heavy, closed, self-contained unit (hermetic) made of cast iron. This Trane compressor is not a conventional piston compressor; it employs a scroll system for its operation. Two scrolls interlocking with each other inside the sealed housing work like a pump and compress the refrigerant gas at a moderate speed of 1750 RPM. This efficiency is reflected in the fact that this design is capable of handling a cool 6-ton load (72,000 BTUH) for cooling loads.
