Description
The Trane HTR1225 Crankcase Heater is an electrical resistance heater which provides 60Watts with the intention of maintaining the oil’s preferred temperature within the crankcase of injected HVAC equipment. In crankcases are located the compressor, the part that is responsible for the movement of refrigerant gases through the system. They mentioned that oil forms a film on compressor surface area and helps in reducing friction this causing the compressor to run efficiently. At low temperatures, oil even thickens and this situations affects its primary function of lubrication. It can lead to more wear and tear of the components, and also to problems in starting of the compressor in cold climate conditions.
